Using photoshop and creating school magazine.

Starting to use photoshop

As i had never used photoshop before, i played around with the software. I took a picture of an artist to and edited it to see what each tool does. I then learnt what layers where and how slowly managed to create a picture by layers one on top of another.

Creating school magazine.

Editing
Firstly, I planned out what the conventions of a general school magazine was by looking at our school magazine, 'The Kestrel.'
My theme was 'Heros', so my magazine had to relate to possible heros that could be within school and out of school.
To start of, I took pictures of 3 of my friends acting like superheroes at different camera angle shots.
The first picture was at a high angle shot, which i then uploaded to photoshop and cleared the background! (could highlight the theme of heros as you should look up to aim high- just like a hero).

The second picture was at a low angle shot and again got rid of the background which could show how most people could be looked up to.

Finally, for my final picture i took it at a mid-shot angle, as it links to the conventions of a magazine of having a mid-shot on the front page of my magazine.

Then for my fourth picture for my contents page, I took a picture of a superman blue tack which could highlight creativity of being in school and being a hero. I edited the background away and in the contents page, used the paint brush tool to had a bit of hair :)

Front Cover

For most of the background, title, and text, i used Microsoft word to create my own images. Then i opened them up in photoshop and edited the colours to make them more vibrant and colourful, relating to colours of red, blue and yellow which are the superman colours who is a well known 'Hero'. Also, i used the paintbrush tool to create the star-like background.

Furthermore, for the contents page, I used Microsoft Word to create my own images- such as the stars, and i uploaded my own photo. I kept it rather plain and simple compared to the front cover as it was layered a lot.

Towards the end, i used the blur tool around the edges of all my pictures to smoothen them out and make it appear neater.
